Restroom trailer, flushing units or standard units: which fits your wedding?

A restroom trailer fits a formal or evening wedding with power and water nearby. Flushing units with sinks fit a backyard or farm wedding without hookups. Standard units fit a casual reception on a budget, paired with handwashing stations. Many couples mix them: a trailer for guests plus standard units for the bar crowd.

Want the trailer held for your date?

Trailers book up on summer and fall Saturdays. Call Shawn with the date, venue address and guest count.

How many restrooms does a 150-guest wedding need?

A 150-guest wedding that runs 6 hours with a bar needs 7 restroom units. That is 3 units for the headcount, 2 more because it runs past 4 hours, and 2 more for the bar. Make 1 of the 7 wheelchair-accessible. One 2-station restroom trailer plus 3 units covers the same crowd.

  1. Headcount

150 guests divided by 50 is 3 units.

  2. Length

Over 4 hours adds 1 unit per 100 guests. 150 divided by 100 rounds up to 2.

  3. Bar

Alcohol adds 1 unit per 100 guests, rounded up. That is 2 more, for 7 units.

  4. Food and access

Food adds 1 handwashing station per 2 units without sinks. One unit should be wheelchair-accessible.

Flushing mix4 deluxe flushing, 2 standard, 1 wheelchair-accessible, 2 handwashing stations$1,965

Add delivery and pickup and 6% PA sales tax. Weddings that need 3 or more units get 10% off the units. Try other guest counts with the restroom calculator.

Flushing units hold about 50 to 75 flushes each. Over a 6-hour reception, place them near the tent and let the standard units by the bar take the late-night traffic.

Where should the wedding restrooms go?

Wedding restrooms go close enough to the tent that guests find them in the dark, and downwind so the dance floor never smells them. Pick firm, level ground the truck can reach. Keep the doors facing away from the head table and the photo spots. Light the path once the sun goes down.

Check which way the evening breeze usually blows across your site. Near the lake it often comes off the water. Set units on the far side of the tent from that breeze.

The restroom trailer needs 12 to 16 feet of length, plus room for the truck to back it in. Soft lawn after rain can rut, so tell Shawn if the yard is wet the week before. A driveway or gravel pad is often the better spot.

What does a restroom trailer need to run?

A restroom trailer needs a dedicated 110V, 20-amp outlet within 50 feet, a garden hose hookup for water, and level, firm ground with truck access. The outlet should not be shared with the DJ, the caterer or tent heaters. A fresh water tank fill is available on request when no hose is close.

The trailer has heat and AC, LED lighting, porcelain flushing toilets and vanity sinks, with steps and a handrail at each door. Delivery, setup and pickup are included in the weekend price.

No outlet within 50 feet? Tell Shawn on the first call, before you book, so the plan works on the day. Full details are on the restroom trailer rental page.

How far ahead should you book wedding restrooms?

Book a wedding restroom trailer at least 2 weeks ahead, and earlier for summer and fall Saturdays. Porta potties and flushing units need 2 to 3 weeks on June and harvest-season weekends. Event rentals are paid in full at booking. A trailer cancels free up to 7 days out, and 50% after that.

Porta potties and flushing units cancel free up to 24 hours before delivery. Date changes are free with 24 hours notice. For Sunday weddings the units arrive Friday or Saturday, because the trucks do not run Sunday.

Wedding restroom questions

These wedding restroom questions cover the details that go wrong on the day: running out of flush water, trailer power, accessibility, rain and setup timing. Each answer gives the fact first. Call Shawn with your venue address and he will walk the plan with you before you pay.

Can the trailer be set up Friday for a Saturday wedding at our farm?

Friday setup for a Saturday wedding is normal. The trailer is leveled and hooked up the day before, so it is ready for the ceremony. Pickup is Monday, and the extra days are part of the weekend price.

Will a flushing porta potty run out of water during the reception?

Each flushing unit holds about 50 to 75 flushes. For 100 or more guests, pair flushing units with standard units, or book a $45 refill visit. A restroom trailer runs on your garden hose, so it does not run dry.

Is the restroom trailer wheelchair-accessible?

The trailer has steps with a handrail, so guests in wheelchairs cannot use it. Add a wheelchair-accessible unit next to it. That unit has a ground-level entry, grab bars and a 60-inch turning space.

What if it rains all week before the wedding?

Tell Shawn and the plan moves to firmer ground, such as the driveway or a gravel pad. We avoid soft lawn so the truck and trailer do not sink. We are not responsible for normal truck ruts on soft ground.

Does the price include delivery, setup and pickup?

The restroom trailer price includes delivery, setup and pickup. Porta potties and flushing units add one delivery and pickup charge per order, $49 in the Erie core zone. 6% PA sales tax is added to both.

Do we need a separate handwashing station with flushing units?

Flushing units have a sink inside, so they cover handwashing. Standard units do not, so add 1 handwashing station per 2 standard units when food is served. Set it where guests pass on the way back to the tent.
